Come Live in Glasgow

In terms of night life, culture, job opportunities and sheer hedonism, Glasgow is hard to beat.

Scotland's largest city, Glasgow is renowned for its vibrant social scene, boasts first-class designer shopping and, in cultural terms, the city can hold its own thanks to its impressive architecture, the Burrell Collection, Kelvingrove Gallery and the Gallery of Modern Art.

It's also home to thousands of students who attend it's top Universities - Glasgow and Strathclyde - as well as the world-renowned Glasgow College of Art and numerous other learning institutions eg Glasgow Metropolitan College, Stow, Anniesland and The College of Nautical Studies. The city is also within easy train travelling distance of Reid Kerr (Paisley) and James Watt (Greenock and Kilwinning) - not to mention the newer West of Scotland University (with popular campuses in both Paisley and Ayr).

So why WOULDN'T you want to come and live here? Well, at Clear Lets in Glasgow, we're stumped for a reason. And it's not just because we want you to let one of our properties. The staff who work in our Kilmarnock Road office really do love this city with a passion. And they're not exactly in the minority. The city has well over more than half a million inhabitants.

This includes thousands of young, ambitious career types. And as home to huge international companies such as BT, Barclays Wealth, Dell, esure, JP Morgan, Lloyds TSB, Morgan Stanley, O2, Response Handling, and Direct Line - it's not difficult to see why. It's also Scotland's media capital with the HQ of STV and the BBC as well as every national newspaper in Scotland with the exception of the P&J (Aberdeen) and Scotsman (Edinburgh).

Meanwhile, there's been major regeneration of the Clyde Waterfront, the new International Financial Services District and the various business parks outwith the city. This is coupled with the fact various new projects have already begun such as Clyde Gateway, Nova Technology Park and the Collegelands development. Huge development is also ongoing in the city's East side with the forthcoming Commonweath Games. The completion of the M74 is also expected to bring more business and employees to the area, improve transport links and reduce car traffic in the city centre.

The city's largest employment arena is in the service industry, with the public sector, like many cities, making up the bulk of jobs (Glasgow City Council is the largest Local Authority in Scotland). The business and financial sector comes a close second.

In terms of leisure, the coast is never more than a 30 minute train journey away - a big attraction for families moving to the area. There's also numerous opportunities for a fun-day-out for four or more including the Science Centre, Pollock Park, Xscape, Mugdock Country Park, The Time Capsule (nearby Coatbridge) and Museum of Transport.

Glasgow boasts a number of multi-bedroomed Victorian tenements and small, flash, executive pads.
