The Housing Market is Beginning to Recover

The latest news from The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (referred to as the RICS) reflects a promising future for the housing market.  Houses are starting to move on the market as more people are buying homes.  In fact, as many as 67% of members reporting statistics from the RICS, have noticed that more buyers are currently interested in buying a home than in previous months.

The good news is not limited to the increase in new homebuyers as sellers can start to anticipate an increase in the sale price of their homes.  There are not large quantities of houses currently on the market.  However, there are increasingly more people searching to buy a home making it possible for sellers to earn more money on the sale of their home as buyers compete for the best houses.

It is the first time in over two years that homeowner’s can expect to receive a fair price for the sale of their house.  The housing market was one in which seller’s often did not receive a good price for their home for quite some time.  It is not just the listing prices for houses on the market that have increased in the past two years.  The number of houses that have actually sold increased last month (June 2009) as well.

The statistics give buyers and sellers hope for the future in terms of continued improvements in the housing market.  Net balances for sales on houses are being recorded at values that have not been seen this high before the summer of 1999.  A one percent increase in sales of properties has been noted in the second quarter of 2009 as well.

It appears that the housing market might very well be on a slow but steady incline in months to come.  Buyers and sellers can be optimistic about the future of the housing market as it begins to recover
